Hi you! This glossary is here if you are interested in learning more about the different jobs in communications. The communications have a large field of choices, sometimes, it's hard to find your perfect field of interest. I've decided to put some of the principals words and title jobs that could be attached to this program, perhaps you will find a word that'll get your attention and decide to do a little more research about this field of study. Just to introduce myself a little, I'm a student at Montmorency College in communication and media more precisely and I'm in my last semester.
Advertising manager

An advertising manager develops, implements, and manages a company's advertising strategy, both from a business, sales, and technical perspective. It is their job to Initiate and manage discussions and oversee sales with sponsors and agencies.
Example: Advertising managers have fast-paced and creative jobs.

Artistic agent

An artist agent is any professional who works on behalf of an artist to represent, promote, and sell their work. In many ways, they represent the business interests of the artist, whether by pursuing individual sales, licensing deals, publicity, or opportunities like teaching, events, or commissions for artists.
Example: If you are considering becoming an artistic agent, you will definitely need the aforementioned skills and have to be prepared to research the art industry in great depth.

Event manager

Someone whose job is to plan and manage large events such as conferences, trade shows, and parties.
Example: Applicants for the position of event manager must have experience in running sales events and trade conventions.

Press officer

Press officers respond to enquiries from journalists, write press releases, try to interest journalists in their organisation’s stories and campaigns, arrange for spokespeople to speak to the press, and monitor media coverage.
Example: He had to handle his own media relations since the last press officer departed last month.

Scriptwriter

A person who writes the words for films or radio or television broadcasts.
Example: These people provide a training ground for technicians, scriptwriters and all the essential technical services of the film.

Social media manager

Social media managers create and maintain brand promotions, company information and marketing campaigns for their company across several social media networks. A social media manager is expected to keep up with new trends and company and industry news.
Example: Social media managers are marketers, first and foremost.
